In 10 words or less, why should someone want to be a part of this department?
To have a strong understanding of the economic world.
When did you know you wanted to study this area? What pathway led you to this department?
I never took an economics class in high school, and after taking Econ 101 my freshman year, I was hooked.
What is the best way to get (and stay) connected to this department?
Take classes, meet the professors, get on the email list, and go to the meetings.
What would you miss the most if you were no longer a part of this department?
The pizza lunch meetings.
What are your career aspirations/next steps after K?
I have no idea.
What has been the biggest surprise you have encountered at K?
The freedom that students have to explore their academic interests, thanks to the new curriculum.
How does your department connect to your other interests and activities?
Any one of my interests which involves money or finances (so almost all of them) connects to the economics department.
What has been your favorite class at K? Why?
Point Set Topology, because it made me think about the world I live in a whole new way. It changed the way I think about things.
What is your SIP?
I am doing a two term library research SIP in the Economics department. My topic is the macroeconomic effects of deleveraging.
