Diebold Symposium

The Diebold Symposium is an annual scientific meeting sponsored by the Biology Department of Kalamazoo College and is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Frances "Dieb" Diebold (1900-1989), a member of the Kalamazoo College Biology Department for 44 years. Senior biology majors present the results of their Senior Individualized Projects (SIPs) at the Diebold Symposium. Presentations are made as short seminars or as posters, and the entire symposium is open to the public. Various activities are also planned around the visit, including a keynote address by a prominent biologist (see speaker list below) and a closing banquet. An endowed fund established by the College in honor of Dr. Diebold provides support for the symposium and for student research stipends.
