Programs

Kalamazoo College has a strong, historical commitment to experiential learning. The Center for Career Development either manages or assists with various field-based experiential programs that allow you to explore your interests as they may relate to your major or future profession.

The Discovery Externship Program is a unique to Kalamazoo College. It places current students with alumni sponsors for 1-4 week extended job shadows during the summer. Students are able to take a glance into what life after "K" may look like for them.

The Field Experience Internship Program allows students to register their internship(s) with the Center for Career Development for transcript notation. Student grants are also available through an application process to help supplement the cost of the experience.

Community Building Internships allow student to work in the city of Kalamazoo during the summer months. The purpose of this internship program is to provide a way for Kalamazoo College students to become involved in the city of Kalamazoo and build powerful partnerships with community organizations.

The GLCA Domestic Study-Away programs, particularly the Philadelphia Center Program and New York Arts Program, allow students to spend one quarter off-campus in order to participate in internships related to their collegiate major, hobby, or passion.
