Programs

Kalamazoo College has a strong, historical commitment to experiential learning. The Center for Career and Professional Development either manages or assists with various field-based experiential programs and internships that allow you to explore your interests as they may relate to your major or future profession.

The Discovery Externship Program is a unique to Kalamazoo College. It places current students with alumni sponsors for 1-4 week extended job shadows during the summer. Students are able to take a glance into what life after "K" may look like for them.

The Field Experience Program allows students to register their internship(s) with the Center for Career and Professional Development for transcript notation. Student grants are also available through an application process to help supplement the cost of the experience.

The GLCA Domestic Study-Away programs, particularly the Philadelphia Center Program and New York Arts Program, allow students to spend one quarter off-campus in order to participate in internships related to their collegiate major, hobby, or passion.

To learn more about these programs, visit their specific site or stop by the CCPD to speak with a Career Advisor or staff member.
