The Field Experience Program (FEP) offers structure and CCPD staff support to students engaged in summer internships of at least six weeks in duration. Included under the FEP umbrella are four types of internships: K-Internships, Community Building Internships, Arcus Center Internships, and Independent Internships. FEP internships include a learning contract, regular structured reflection, a final reflective assignment and evaluation, and ongoing staff support. FEP internships do not include housing. Completed FEP internships are noted on students' official academic transcripts.

To help defray the cost of a summer career development experience, competitive FEP grants are available. Students who apply for and accept K-Internships, Community Building Internships, and Arcus Center Internships automatically receive a stipend. Students who secure Independent Internships may apply for stipends through a competitive online application process.

In order for your independent internship to qualify for the Field Experience Program, it must:

• Be enrolled in the program before its start date
• Extend over a minimum of 6 weeks during the non-enrolled summer months
• Include a minimum total of 192 hours worked

Decisions about funding of independent internships through the Field Experience Program are made by the Experiential Education Committee which scores each applicant's answers to the following questions according to the FEP Grant Application Rubric.

The online process for initiating participation in the Field Experience Program becomes available in March of each academic year.
