Cover Letters

Cover letters often accompany resumes when applying for employment. They are critical documents, as they introduce your intentions and attributes to a prospective employer, mentor, or admission counselor. A well-written cover letter will entice the reader to reference your resume and will provide them with a prime writing sample. To make sure your cover letter will do this, visit the Center for Career Development. We can help you draft your first cover letter or edit an existing one.

Once you have created your first draft bring your cover letter to the CCD and have a Career Advisor take a look. They will provide feedback to make sure you are articulating your skills and abilities in such a way that the reader can not help but look at your resume. If making it to the office is difficult, there are evening Cover Letter Workshops every other week that you may attend regardless of what year you are in at "K." Check K-Connect for specific times and locations.

Additionally, the CCD provides a Cover Letter Guide outlining the necessary contents of your letter. Regardless of what stage you are in with your cover letter the Center for Career Development is here to provide you with feedback. Come in and see us!
