I am a Medicinal Biochemist. I have been on Kalamazoo College's faculty since January of 2000, and before that I taught classes at the University of Michigan, in the College of Pharmacy.

My teaching responsibilities here are varied. I teach four courses (Antibiotics:Global Health and Social Justice, Introductory Chemistry II, Biochemistry, and Principles of Medicinal Chemistry). In addition to teaching I am involved in several outreach programs that span my work here at the college and in the community. I have been married for 20 years and I am the mother of two children.

My research focuses on understanding the enzyme nitric oxide synthase and its involvement in Alzheimers' disease. I began work on this enzyme in the lab of Dr. Michael Marletta, and have continued that work here at the College, which I enjoy working on with our undergraduate students.

My hobbies include watching sports (especially those involving my kids), watching CSI, bowling, and photography.
