How to Manage Submitted Form Data

This help page is about managing submitted forms in the Reason database. You can choose to use the database when you set up a form, by setting the "Save to Database" option to "Yes" (as below):
Form_SaveToDatabase_Yes

View Form Submission Data

  1. Edit the form you wish to view the data submissions for.
  2. Click View / Delete stored data, located at the top of the form editing screen:
    Form_ViewDelete
  3. You should now be able to view form submissions in the Reason Data Manager database.

Export/Download Form Submission Data

Exporting the form submission data allows you to save it on your computer and open it in a database tool like Microsoft Excel.

*Note: When you export form submission data, you have not cleared the database; you will still need to delete submissions after exporting them.

  1. Edit your form and click View / Delete stored data, which opens the Data Manager.
  2. Next to Data Manager "Options," click Export Stored Data:
    FormManager_Export
  3. In the window prompt, select "Save File" and choose a location on your computer where you would like to download the file:
    Form Export Prompt

Delete Form Submission Data

Deleting stored data will allow you to edit your form (if you cannot currently access it). Be sure to save any existing form data by exporting first.

  1. Edit your form and click View / Delete stored data, which opens the Data Manager.
  2. Next to Data Manager "Options," click Delete Stored Data:
    FormManager_Delete
  3. From this screen, you can either export the existing data (if you have not already), or click Delete Forever to empty the database of form submissions (This cannot be undone):
