Two rising seniors were chosen to be Sustainability Interns for next year. The students were chosen from a pool of excellent candidates based on their leadership, enthusiasm, skills, and commitment to sustainability on campus. The two sustainability interns for the 2013- 2014 school year will be Katelyn Ray and Charlotte Steele.These interns will pursue projects focused on reducing the college's greenhouse gas emissions and impact on the environment.
Additionally, two students were chosen as next year's Compost Interns. Rising senior Monica Cooper will be the senior Compost Intern after her work developing the Grove Point Compost System in summer 2012. Rising sophomore Dylan Polcyn was chosen as the new underclassman Compost Intern. The 2012-2013 school year was the inaugural year for the on-campus compost program, so these new hires mark an exciting landmark for Kalamazoo College Sustainability and the future of composting at K!
