The Raymond H. & Robert H. Borkenhagen Center for New Media Design (CNMD), located on the first floor of Upjohn Library Commons, supports Kalamazoo College faculty, staff and students in the creation of materials for course projects or other college-related activities, including multimedia presentations, posters, images, web pages, and other design needs. The hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm. Evening hours are Monday-Thursday, 7pm-9pm. 

Software and Equipment

The CNMD has seven computers (four iMacs; three PCs, including one Wacom workstation).

There is a 10'x5' cutting table.

  • Printers
    • 1 - HP Color Laserjet 5525dn printer
    • 1 - Canon ipf8400 printer  (prints up to 44" wide, for academic use only)
    • 2 - Epson SureColor P5000 printer (prints up to 17" wide)
  • Scanners
    • 2 - Epson Expression 10000XL Graphic Arts (scans up to A3+)
    • 1 - Epson Expression 11000XL Graphics Arts (scans up to A3+)
    • 6 - Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 document scanners
  • Canon EOS Rebel T5i DSLR cameras
    • A limited number of Canon EOS Rebel T5i cameras are available for students to check out.
    • The cameras can be checked out up to one week.
    • The cameras can be checked for classroom projects and assignments. Student organizations may also check them out.
    • The cameras are not available to be checked out for personal or non-academic use.
