Videoconferencing Classroom

The Joyce Kirk Coleman and Lester L. Coleman III High Tech Teaching Lab is located in Upjohn Library Commons room 307.

This room fills two purposes at Kalamazoo College. It serves daily as a technologically enhanced classroom offering a permanent computer connected to the internet and a mounted data projector capable of delivering numerous forms of visual information, from VHS to DVD and document cameras.

This room also serves as our only location permanently equipped with Polycom internet protocol hardware for video conferencing or interaction with other educational institutions for the sharing of information. It can project both the local data information within the classroom as well as receive images from the external location. This technology enables live interactive instruction to students at remote locations, brings guest lecturers into the classroom from distant sites, and supports other types of interactive learning and collaboration.
