Center for New Media Design

The Center for New Media Design (CNMD) assists students with creating, designing, and printing presentations, posters, flyers, illustrations, photographs, and brochures. The Virtual Reality Lab is located in room 141 of the CNMD. The CNMD is open to all students.

Peer Design Assistance

Peer Design Consultants are students who work in the CNMD and assist their peers with scanning, printing, and design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Location and Hours

The Center for New Media Design is located on the first floor of the Library in room 140.

Daytime hours

  • Monday - Friday:  8 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Saturday & Sunday: Closed

Evening hours

  • Monday – Wednesday: 7 p.m.-9 p.m.
    • Open weeks 3-10, Fall Term
    • Open weeks 2-10, Winter Term
    • Open weeks 1-10, Spring Term
    • No evening hours during exam week
  • Saturday & Sunday: Closed

Software

  • Adobe Creative Cloud software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, Dreamweaver, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Animate.
  • Corel Painter
  • Blender

  • Four iMacs
  • Three PCs, including one Wacom Cintiq 27QHD Creative Pen Display workstation

Printers

  • 1 - Canon ipf8400 printer (prints up to 44" wide, for academic use only)
  • 2 - Epson SureColor P5000 printer (prints up to 17" wide)
  • 1 - HP Color Laserjet 5525dn printer
  • 1 - MakerBot Replicator Desktop 3D printer

Please note: Print credits are not accepted in the CNMD, so there is a cost to printing

Scanners

  • 2 - Epson Expression 10000XL Graphic Arts (scans up to A3+)
  • 6 - Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 document scanners

DSLR cameras

  • Six Canon EOS Rebel T5i cameras and four Canon EOS Rebel T7i cameras are available for students to check out.
  • Cameras are checked out for one week. If no one is on the waiting list, the camera can be renewed for an additional week.
  • Cameras are checked out 
    • for classroom projects and assignments.
    • for SIP research.
    • for use by student organizations.
  • Cameras are not checked out
    • for personal use.
    • for an entire term.

Additional Equipment

  • Rototrim Professional M24 trimmer (cut materials up to 24" in length)
  • 10 foot x 5 foot cutting table
