The Music Department Welcomes You to Kalamazoo College!
A vibrant and inspiring environment exists in the Department of Music at Kalamazoo College, where musicians, majors and non-majors alike may study with first-rate professors and faculty and perform in our many ensembles. Here, you will never take a lesson with a graduate assistant. At “K” you receive dedicated and focused attention from some of the finest professional musicians in Michigan. These lessons too can earn you credit towards graduation.
The MUSIC DEPARTMENT at Kalamazoo College also invites you to join and perform in any one or more of our most excellent ensembles:
Jazz Band, Symphonic Band, College Singers, Kalamazoo Philharmonia, and International Percussion Ensemble
Performances in these groups earns you credit towards graduation.

Kalamazoo College’s Department of Music is not only a place where accomplished musicians will flourish. Any student can learn a new instrument or discipline from scratch - such as - experience performing jazz; Taiko drumming; or formal composition lessons. We invite you to explore the many options available to you in music at Kalamazoo College.
