Retirement savings plans

Kalamazoo College offers two 403b retirement plans through TIAA.

  • Any employee of the College can participate in the Tax Deferred Annuity Plan (TDA, Group SRA, GSRA).  There are no service requirements and you may enroll and begin pre-tax contributions through payroll deduction at any time.
  • The Defined Contribution Retirement Plan (DC) requires two benefit-eligible service years at an institution of higher learning prior to enrollment. If you have met part or all of this service requirement while employed at another institution, have your previous employer complete the Verification of Service Credit form. Once you have enrolled online with TIAA and have given Human Resources your authorization to begin salary reductions, the College will begin contributions equal to 5% of salary, and in addition, will match your voluntary contributions up to 5% of salary.
  • To begin participation in either plan, you must enroll online with TIAA and send a Salary Reduction Agreement to Human Resources.
